Who, where:
I’m Joel Hughes I live in Bedminster, Bristol (UK) with my brilliant girlfriend (Anna) and cat (Mrs Chester) and it is all very nice, thank you for asking.
What, why:
I’m a web developer, primarily in PHP, although more recently have been producing personal projects and web apps using Ruby, Python and now Erlang. I started professionally, after leaving University in 2003, making sites for Root 101 Ltd and producing the www.manchester.com websites. Over the years I’ve built web applications of increasing complexity and have grown to love development and programming for the web (not just code, but equally the shear scope of what is possible with software over the web).
I’m currently lead developer for S-cool Ltd
This Blog is a way for me to document my experiments, ideas and learning – and also to bring me into contact with likeminded people who might benefit from experimenting alongside me. I’m sure the content will vary but the aims to focus on work I enjoy most: learning development techniques and building cool apps (the most recent was Good Baad).
